The Operations & Maintenance Division includes four sections: Streets, Stormwater, Water and Sewer. This includes over 350 miles of roadway, sidewalks, and public easements, as well as water and sewer systems that provide service to more than 8,000 homes and businesses.
Division Responsibilities:
Streets Division:Maintenance of the city street network. This includes right of way maintenance, pothole patching, street sign maintenance and new installation, asphalt paving, snow removal, pavement maintenance and sidewalk evaluations and repairs.
Stormwater Division:
Involved in flood control, system maintenance and pollution prevention. Staff perform tasks associated with the inspection and maintenance of our stormwater systems including detention ponds, stream buffers and erosion and sediment controls and all other elements of the stormwater conveyance system.
Water & Sewer Division:
Water Utilities is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system serving approximately 8,627 residential and commercial customers. This includes regular inspection and maintenance of the distribution system, Kentucky Pump Station and two storage facilities, as well as locating and exercising water valves, flushing and inventorying fire hydrants and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Sewer Utilities is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system. This includes regular inspection and maintenance of the collection system and four lift stations, regular sewer jetting and assuring compliance with state and federal regulations

Division Responsibilities:
Pothole Repair: The City repairs all reported potholes on City-maintained streets within seven (7) business days of notification. Streets Division staff also conduct regular inspections to proactively identify and repair potholes. Temporary cold mix material is used during inclement weather, with permanent hot mix repairs scheduled when weather permits. Residents can report potholes at 816-331-2377 or using the Public Service Request system. When reporting, please provide the exact location, nearest cross street and your contact information.
Snow Removal: The Streets Division manages snow and ice removal throughout the City to ensure safe travel for residents and emergency services. Detailed procedures and schedules are available in the Snow Removal section of this website.
Through these programs and services, the Streets Division ensures safe, clean, and accessible streets while promoting community participation and awareness.

Delivering Safe Water Service: Ensure the public water supply is consistently treated, monitored, and delivered with minimal interruption.
Metering & Billing Support: Maintain and accurately read water meters and coordinate with the Finance Department to provide usage reports for billing purposes.
Wastewater System Management: Oversee the sanitary sewer collection system, enforce regulations to protect the system from improper discharges, and ensure compliance with municipal and state sanitary code.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Growth Support: Maintain and repair water & sewer utilities within the Operations Division’s jurisdiction and coordinate for system expansion and capital improvement projects.
Through these core services, the Water & Sewer Division supports the City’s commitment to public safety, environmental stewardship, and customer service excellence.

Backflow Prevention
Backflow prevention devices stop water from reversing direction and contaminating your home or the public water system. Annual testing is required by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Missouri Safe Drinking Water Law to protect everyone’s water supply.
Backflow requirements are codified in Raymore Municipal Code sections 705.180–705.270.

Prevent Freezing
Insulate pipes in unheated areas, seal drafts, remove outdoor hoses, and keep meter lids closed.
Emergency Tips
Know your main shut-off valve, keep water trickling in extreme cold, and never use open flames or antifreeze in pipes.
