Department Overview: 

The Raymore Public Works Department has broad responsibilities in the City including:

• Civil engineering and design support

• Oversight of the installation of public infrastructure

• Maintenance and upgrades of the City’s infrastructure, including the water system, the sewer system, the street network, the storm sewer system and associated facilities

• Stormwater quality and system maintenance

• Delivering safe, potable water

• Operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer collection

The Raymore Public Works Department is fully accredited by the American Public Works Association (APWA). This accreditation formally verifies and recognizes that the agency is in full compliance with the recommended management practices set forth in APWA’s Public Works Management Practices Manual. Accreditation assists in continuous improvement of operations and management and in providing a valid and objective evaluation of agency programs as a service to the public and the profession. 

Department Responsibilities:

Public Works is organized into two primary divisions: the Engineering Division and the Operations and Maintenance Division. Together, these teams support long-term infrastructure planning, project delivery, and daily system maintenance across the community.

Through its combined divisions, the Public Works Department ensures Raymore’s infrastructure remains safe, dependable, and capable of supporting the community’s long-term growth and quality of life.

View the City’s annual water quality report, which provides valuable information about the drinking water and confirms compliance with safety standards. Paper copies are also available at City Hall or the Public Works Maintenance Facility.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

Raymore residents can safely dispose of HHW products through permanent collection facilities or mobile collection events. ID and proof of residency are required. Accepted items include automotive products, chemicals, paint, and more.
