The House Watch Program provides extra patrol of home when residents will be away from their home for an extended period of time.

Neighborhood Watch Programs unify neighbors and create a partnership between those neighbors and the Police Department in order to prevent crime.

A Private Property Accident Report can be made if a collision occurs on private property, such as a parking lot, and results in no injury, minimal damage, does not involve alcohol or a hit and run and the involved parties are civil. If these conditions exist, drivers are encouraged to exchange the following information to enable their insurance companies to file a claim: 

• Driver’s name, address, and phone number; 

• Names of all occupants; 

• Vehicle make, model, license number and vehicle identification number; 

• Insurance company and policy number. 

The exchange of information between involved drivers is required by law, but police reporting of non-injury accidents on private property is not mandated in the State of Missouri.

This form is designed to assist motorists in obtaining the necessary information to provide to their insurance companies. It is the responsibility of the involved parties to retain a copy of the form as it will not be kept on file at the Raymore Police Department.

Ride Along Program

The purpose of the Raymore Police Department's Ride-Along Program is to allow the general public the opportunity to witness and familiarize themselves with the operation of the police department.

How to Participate

If you wish to ride along with a police officer, download an application to Ride Along with the Police Department or pick up an application at the police department and return it to:

Criteria

• The application must be submitted at least one week prior to the ride-along date requested

• The applicant must be 18 years of age or older or have written approval from their legal guardian

• The applicant (or guardian) must sign a ride-along waiver

• The applicant must not have a criminal record

• The applicant must be dressed in a business suit or office casual attire

• The ride-along will not last more than four (4) hours and the applicant will be limited to two (2) tours per calendar year

The Raymore Police Department's evidence division is responsible for the inventory, storage and/or disposal of all property seized or recovered. This could also include items found by residents and turned in to the Police Department.

How to claim property

Anyone who believes that their property has been seized or is being held by the Police Department should contact us at 816-331-0530. Unclaimed property is subject to forfeit and/or disposal after six months.

Residents are advised to make an appointment with the Property Officer BEFORE arriving to pick up property items, in order to ensure that those items are available. Be sure to have case number, property description and/or proof of ownership ready.

Weapons

If you believe the Police Department has recovered a weapon belonging to you, you will need to set an appointment to retrieve it. Please be prepared to show valid photo ID and proof of ownership. 

Weapons CANNOT be returned if any of the following applied:

• You are a convicted felon

• You have outstanding arrest warrants

• You have a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction

• You are the subject of an order of protection

Other facts or circumstances may disqualify you from having a weapon returned to you. If you have any other questions, contact the Police Department at 816-331-0530.

Reporting a Traffic Concern

If you have a traffic concern or a traffic safety problem in your area, contact the Raymore Police Department at 816-331-0530.

If the problem is with a particular vehicle, please provide as much description information as you can, including direction of travel, color of vehicle, make / model of vehicle, license plate number, number of occupants and what the vehicle was doing to concern you.

If the problem is ongoing in your area, provide a time frame in which the traffic violations mostly occur and any particular streets and directions of travel. Depending on availability of officers, it may be possible to conduct extra traffic patrol in the are during a certain time frame.

Promoting Traffic Safety

There are many ways the department enforces and promotes traffic safety, including:

• Vehicle stops by patrol officers
• Speed Education Radar trailer placement
• STEP Grants - Raymore PD participates in the Cass County Safety Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). These are grants provided by the State of Missouri that allow certain officers to conduct only traffic enforcement during certain time frames.
• DWI enforcement - Raymore PD participates in several sobriety checkpoints throughout the year. Officers also participate in DWI wolf pack assignments where officers do not handle calls for service and instead look for and stop impaired drivers.
