Exterior Home Maintenance

• Includes broken windows or siding, flaking paint, broken fences, as well as missing shingles or roofing materials.
• Once notified of a violation, the property owner has 30 days to address the issue before further action can be taken.

Grass/Weed Height

• No person shall permit or maintain any growth of weeds, grasses or lawns over eight inches in height for any developed property or 12 inches for undeveloped property. **Please note that a violation does not exist until the grass on a property exceeds the heights listed above.**
• The City does not require residents to trim yards with string trimmers, trim bushes or trees (unless they are endangering the right-of-way), or to weed landscaped areas.
• Larger properties kept for hay are exempt from the mowing requirement. Such properties must be cut/harvested twice a year (By July 1 and Nov. 1).
• Once notified of a violation, the property owner has 7-10 days to address the issue before further action can be taken.

Inoperable Vehicle on Private Property
PLEASE NOTE: Code Enforcement does not address on-street parking concerns. On-street parking issues are addressed by the Police Department.

• A vehicle is deemed inoperable if it meets one or more of the following criteria regardless of how the vehicle came to be in its current location or ownership:

1. Does not display current valid license plates registered to the vehicle.
2. Does not display a valid inspection decal that is valid.
3. It has flat or missing tires or wheels.
4. It is wrecked or junk.
5. It is wholly or partially dismantled.
6. It is missing parts to safely and legally operate on a public street.
7. It has mechanical problems to prevent the vehicle from being driven under own power.
8. It has vegetation or debris has collected in or around or under the vehicle.
9. It is used to store auto parts, household items, lawn equip or other storage item.

• Once notified of a violation, the property owner has 7-10 days to address the issue before further action can be taken.

Junk/Debris Stored Outside
It is a violation of City Code to dump or deposit on, or to scatter over the premises any of the following:

1. Garbage or rubbish
2. Abandoned, discarded or unused objects or equipment such as automobiles, furniture, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, cans, containers or similar objects.
3. Building material and/or construction equipment abandoned or stored on property where construction is not in progress, where a valid building permit does not exist or on property not properly zoned for such storage.
4. Brush or tree limbs (stacked firewood is not prohibited).

**Please note that the City does not require residents to rake leaves on private property or to remove snow from sidewalks.**

Once notified of a violation, the property owner has 7-10 days to address the issue before further action can be taken.

Abandoned Vehicle on the street
The Raymore Police Department responds to calls of abandoned vehicles that have been left illegally on the street. This includes vehicles that do not have proper license plate or registration.

Residents can also call the non-emergency line to make a report at 816-331-0530.

Curb Repair

Curbs not only make a roadway safer for vehicles, but they also help reduce flooding and stormwater issues. If you notice a section of curb has deteriorated, let us know.

Pot Hole or Street Repair
Raymore Public Works strives to repair potholes as soon as possible.

During inclement weather, temporary repair materials known as cold mix are used. Thus, there can be repeat occurrences in the same location until weather allows for a permanent repair using materials known as hot mix.

When leaving a message on the Pothole Hotline, 816-331-2377, please leave the exact location of the hole, the nearest cross street, and your name and phone number so that we may contact you if we have problems locating the hole.

Sidewalk Repair

Sidewalks not only connect our homes and neighborhoods, but provide a safe walkway for our residents. Let us know if you see a segment of sidewalk that needs attention.

If you notice a street light has gone out or is not working properly, you can submit a request to have it repaired. As part of your request, please include the nearest address and location information so our contracted repair crew can have the necessary information.
Average repair time is 3-6 weeks.
