What's the time commitment?  The Charter Review Commission members will meet starting Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. The commission will determine the meeting schedule at that time, with meetings once a month for no more than a few hours each time to discuss sections of our Charter and recommend any changes. The commission will complete their work and report to the City Council by the end of June 2027. Any recommended amendments shall be placed on the Nov. 3, 2027, ballot for voter consideration.

How many residents serve on the Charter Review Commission?  The Charter Review Commission will consist of nine residents. From the applicants, City Council members from each Ward may nominate up to four candidates for consideration from their Ward. From the pool of candidates, the City Council will select eight members, with the Mayor selecting the ninth member of the Commission. There may be no more than three elected officials of the City on the Commission and no more than three of the Commission members may reside in a single Council Ward.
