RAYMORE, MO (June 30, 2026) – The City of Raymore is seeking residents to serve on the Raymore Charter Review Commission.

Any qualified voter who lives within Raymore city limits is eligible to apply. Applications are due by 5 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The City Charter is essentially the City’s constitution. The Charter establishes rules that make up the basic structure, powers and authority of our City government, including the Mayor, City Council and City Manager. The Charter outlines how decisions are made.

The City Charter, first approved by voters on Nov. 4, 1997, requires a comprehensive review no less than every 10 years. The most recent Charter Review Commission was appointed in September 2016 and submitted its final report with proposed amendments to the City Council in June 2017, with voter approval in November 2017.

The Commission will consist of nine members and will meet for the first time in the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. The Commission will determine the meeting schedule at that time, with meetings once a month to discuss sections of our Charter and recommend any changes. The commission will complete their work and report to the City Council by the end of June 2027. Any recommended amendments shall be placed on the Nov. 3, 2027, ballot for voter consideration.
