New phase of trail improvements underway

Aug. 1 update: Work on the Ward Park Trail reconstruction wrapped up this week. The contractor has moved on to the Good Parkway Trail, south of Lucy Webb Road. Trail closure signs are up at each end of the trail. The contractor is replacing small sections of the trail at a time. 


RAYMORE, MO (July 14, 2025) – The second phase of the Park Trails Replacement has started and construction will last into the fall months. The following trails are scheduled to be reconstructed:

  • Ward Park Trail – The existing 8-foot wide asphalt trail will be replaced with 1,300 linear feet of 10-foot wide concrete trail. Work is currently underway to remove the existing trail.

  • Good Parkway Trail North, from Lucy Webb Road to South Foxridge Drive – The existing asphalt trail will be replaced with 3,000 linear feet of a 10-foot-wide concrete trail. This portion of the project also includes stream bank improvements.

  • Madison Street Trail from Lucy Webb south to roundabout at Recreation Park– The existing asphalt trail will be replaced with a 10-foot-wide concrete trail.

  • Linear Park Trails (Timber Trails, LeMore Trail, Brookside Trail) - Sections of the concrete trail will be replaced as needed. Minor repairs will be made to the LeMor bridge approach, as well as stabilization to the creek bank.

The project also includes the installation of safety bollards at multiple trailheads.

The Park Trails Replacement Project Phase II - Roadside Trails is funded by a 2024 Special Obligation Bond and Fund 36, which is the City's Transportation Fund. The contract for the project was awarded to Terry Snelling Construction for $903,074. It was approved in a second reading by the Raymore City Council at its meeting on June 23, 2025.
