MAYOR TURNBOW DECLARES PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY
RAYMORE - Mayor Kristofer Turnbow has declared a state of emergency on behalf of the City of Raymore in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and to support the Stay at Home order issued by the Cass County Health Department on March 23.
At Monday's City Council meeting, the Raymore City Council unanimously voted to authorize Mayor Turnbow to declare a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 virus in an emergency reading.
"As a community and a region we must all work together to end this pandemic," Turnbow said. "I understand the importance of supporting the Cass County Health Department and doing our part to protect the health and safety of everyone in and around our community."
The state of emergency allows Turnbow to "execute the expenditure of emergency funds from available sources, invoke mutual aid agreements and request assistance from the State," as the City follows mandatory directives from the Cass County Health Department to minimize the threat and spread of COVID-19 to the community.
The Cass County Health Department's Stay at Home order for all of Cass County went into effect at 12:01 a.m. March 24, and lasts until 11:59 p.m. April 24, 2020. The Cass County Health Department's press releases, orders and FAQs related to COVID-19 can be found at casscountyhealth.com.
