Feb. 7 Ice Storm UPDATES

Post Date:02/07/2019 4:46 PM

During a winter event, when plows are treating roadways, there will be a link here to view the progress of our crew's work. Each plow is equipped with GPS monitoring system and the map will read green when a truck has been through the street, though a green map does not necessarily mean the treatment or plowing of the street may be complete.

UPDATE3: Thursday, Feb. 7 at 4:30 p.m.

Why can't you plow my street?

This winter storm was more than just a light dusting of snow. More than 1/4" of ice fell overnight followed by a dusting of snow and sleet and frigid temperatures. Residents may still see some snow-packed residential streets this evening and overnight. If a plow were to attempt to push the snow, it would act more like a Zamboni than a plow and would only create an even more dangerous situation. The low temperatures even create an additional hurdle as it takes the salt longer to effectively melt away ice and snow. We ask that people please slow down as they drive and - when possible - avoid on-street parking.

UPDATE2: Thursday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ The Raymore Municipal Court will be in session tonight. If you are schedule to appear tonight but would like to request a continuance, you can call Court Administrator Donna Furr at 816-331-1712.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m.

โ„๏ธ This storm warning is no joke. There is the possibility of significant ice build-up overnight.

๐Ÿ› City Hall's administrative offices will open at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. This includes Water Billing, Municipal Court and City Clerks offices.

๐Ÿšง ๐Ÿš— To assist our Public Works crews working overnight, we are asking that all residents please move vehicles off the street.

๐Ÿ—‘ Currently, Jim's Disposal says Thursday trash will still be picked up. Please allow some extra time as crews may be moving slowly through the routes.
