JOB 

Camp Counselor's are responsible for the direction and care of a group of children throughout their time at summer day camp. Constructively works with peers and supervisors to plan, creatively implement, and supervise camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, aquatics, field trips, and free play. Summer Camp is scheduled from May 29, 2018 thru August 17h, but is subject to change. 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES 
Essential Job Duties - Lead and organizes a group of children in their camp activities.• Enforce camp rules, ensuring the safety of campers, staff, and the public.• Assist with lesson planning.• Perform basic cleaning duties and housekeeping chores.• Report any definite or potential physical hazards or unsafe conditions.• Assist in the preparation of reports, handouts, and notes for weekly meetings.• Fill out communications logs and forms for parents.• Encourage service to the community through camp activities. Promote postive PR with campers, parents and the community.Provide respectful, professional, positive service in all interactions between co-workers and internal and external customers.• Coach, mentor, and develop campers. Provide respectful, professional, positive service in all interactions between co-workers and internal and external customers• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
Job Qualifications - Education, experience and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR. Minimum of 1 year related experience with children in a structured environment. CPR and First Aid certification required, or must be able to obtain the certification. Ability to operate office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone system, and computer.• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.• Ability to accept supervision and guidance • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.• Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations. 

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION 

Work Environment- Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the duties of this job.• Primarily an outdoor work environment.• Exposed to inclement weather and, at times, extreme heat.• Exposed to loud noises. Must be able to make visual inspections of various activity sites, regular walk-throughs of facility areas open to the public; must be able to observe and identify safety hazards, operational concerns, and parent/camper behavior; push, pull, or carries up to 25 pounds for general site preparation duties.
