Hiring decisions are contingent upon satisfactory results of a physical examination, including a drug and alcohol use and misuse screening, and a review of the results of a pre-employment background check.

Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen, 21+ years of age

  • High school diploma or GED

  • POST certified or currently enrolled in the academy

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must successfully pass all phases of the hiring process

Disqualifiers (not all-inclusive)
  • False statements or withheld information

  • Felony conviction (ever) or commission of a felony in the last 5 years

  • Poor work history, reputation, or military/education record

  • Current probation, parole, or diversion

  • DUI in last 5 years, repeated serious traffic violations/accidents

  • Illegal drug use, sale, or abuse of controlled substances
