Improvements, one-way traffic coming to Municipal Circle
On July 29, contractors will begin an all-day micro-surface project that will close some traffic lanes around Municipal Circle.
The work is being done on a Saturday to help minimize the disruption, but will mean traffic will be restricted from Municipal Circle, Broadmoor and Skyline at different times during the day. Work around the Circle should be complete that same day — depending on weather — and will have no affect on traffic traveling on 58 Highway, Sunset or Johnston Parkway.
Construction will close the west entrance to Broadmoor and south portion of Municipal Circle in the morning. It will then close the east entrance to Broadmoor and north portion of Municipal Circle in the afternoon. Although access may be limited to the businesses around Municipal Circle, the parking lot at City Hall will still be accessible throughout the day and is open for any parking if needed for those businesses on Saturday.
The following Friday, Aug. 4, crews will return to restripe the lanes and add angled public parking around Municipal Circle. This will also turn Municipal Circle into a one-way street. Signage will be installed to inform drivers of the change.
Be aware that as you approach Municipal Circle after Aug. 4, you will only be able to make a right-hand turn from Skyline or Broadmoor Drive.
