The City of Raymore has an excellent opportunity for a student studying Horticulture or for someone who may already be experienced. We are looking for a seasonal Horticulturist who is ready to roll up their sleeves and wants to make an impact on the beautification of our great city!
This is a seasonal position working Monday thru Friday approximately April thru October 2018.
Responsibility for culture and care of specialty plants.
Responsibility for bedding plant selection, care and layout.
Performing diagnosis of plant nutrition and pest control needs; fertilization and herbicide.
Performing landscape rehabilitation, including demolition and installation.
Identifying need and performing hand watering when necessary.
Maintaining equipment in proper running order.
Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma
Dependable, consistent attendance.
Certification/License: Valid driver's license
Associate's degree in Horticulture or related field preferred.
Field experience working directly with flowers, turf, trees and basic landscape designs.
